This retro vending machine, located on New York's Financial Street, can buy digital collectibles of the new era.

NFT Gallery and Market Neon have installed a vending machine to sell Solana NFT, a digital collection combined with blockchain technology. The machine standing at 29 John Street in New York will pay legal tender instead of virtual currency from credit cards and mobile payment apps.

According to Decrypt, the concept originated from Jordan Birnholtz, co-founder of Neon, who described NFT's purchase process as "easy to understand".

"there is no easier way to buy than a vending machine," he told Decrypt, adding that he plans to accept payments based on virtual currency within 2022.

"providing a simple online platform that separates NFT from virtual currencies and the option of using vending machines means getting more people involved," Bernholtz said in a statement.

"the sale of NFT does not need to be a mystery, and participants should not be required to hold Ethernet Fong, describe smart contracts, pay gas bills, block chain bridge, etc."

On Neon's Twitter account, photos and videos of people who use the 24-hour vending machine are shared and forwarded. Neon lights of "NFT ATM" are hung on the windows, and vending machines are installed in the depths of the porch. Choose NFT to buy and the box will appear, so you can get NFT by reading the QR code on the smartphone's Neon app.

The NFT market has grown rapidly since 2020, with sales of $41 billion (about 4700 billion yen), close to that of the traditional art market. The craze has been sparked by athletes, celebrities, musicians and artists buying tokens or making their own collections from eye-catching collections such as Bored Ape Yacht Club.
